Counselor

I am honored and excited to join the Butterfield Elementary community as your new school counselor! As someone deeply passionate about supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development, I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with your children and be part of this amazing school.
I was born and raised right here in Tucson, Arizona, and I’m proud to say that I attended schools in the Marana Unified School District myself. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Arizona and subsequently completed my Master of Arts in School Counseling at Grand Canyon University. I taught 3rd grade for five years before deciding to follow my heart and transition into the world of school counseling.
Outside of school, I enjoy staying active by playing soccer and volleyball. I also love participating in trivia nights, painting, and rewatching Pretty Little Liars, which is my go-to comfort show.
My goal as your school counselor is to create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive environment where every student feels safe, valued, and empowered. I am passionate about helping kids navigate challenges, develop strong coping skills, and build confidence in who they are. I strive to be a caring listener and a trusted advocate for every child I serve.
As part of the Marana Unified School District’s Comprehensive School Guidance and Counseling Program, I will be using the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model and focusing on the ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors for Student Success. These guideposts help support student growth in academics, college and career readiness, and social-emotional development.
I am also committed to fostering a culturally responsive and respectful school climate. I aim to counsel from a multicultural perspective—with openness, humility, and a willingness to learn from the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our students and families.
I am truly looking forward to partnering with you and the Butterfield staff to help our students grow into their best selves.
